Job Description

Rate of Pay: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour (paid weekly).

Overtime Rate: $27.00 to $28.50 per hour.

• Monday thru Friday; 7:00am to 3:30pm.
• Overtime always available; paid breaks.

JOB SUMMARY: MAAC Machinery has an opening for a Plumbing Assistant. The primary tasks involve assisting with plumbing component builds and installation as they pertain to our machinery. Role to be overseen and trained by seasoned Lead Plumber. MAAC strongly promotes from within; with hard work and dedication you can progress and learn skilled trades leading to growth opportunities within the plumbing department or our welding, fabrication, machining, and electrical teams.

• Cut, thread, and fit pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to machine structure and tanks using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe runs using a pressure gauge.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Assist Lead in planning pipe system layout and installation according to specifications.
• Meet machine schedules.
• Operate equipment and machinery such as forklifts and power tools in a safe manner.
• Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency in mathematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32”.
• Prior plumbing or piping experience beneficial but not required.
• Bilingual applicants encouraged (English + Spanish).
