Job Description

REPORTS TO: SUPERINTENDENT

POSITION SUMMARY: To serve as an administrative officer providing support and direction to the Superintendent in the area of business and financial services. To provide substantial and effective leadership, direction and oversight in developing, coordinating and maintaining fiscal and administrative services to facilitate successful educational programs and related support services throughout the District. This position supervises and manages all business and financial services departments, which include, but are not limited to accounting, budgeting, payroll, internal accounts auditing, purchasing, warehouse, inventory control, food services, and risk management.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoors/Outdoors The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Noise The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

 
Experience:
  • Seven years experience in management, accounting, and budget coordination experience with responsibilities related to business operations and/or equivalent combination of education and training. 
  • Five years experience in a supervisory or administrative role, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. 
  • Prior experience in public school administration, public school District administration, or leadership of other large, diverse organizations preferred.

 
Computer Skills :

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology, as required for this position. 
  • Experience in Microsoft Office. 


Certificates and/or Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or obtain within 30 work days and the ability to drive. 
  • Valid and current certification in Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: L-Light Work - Required to push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
