VETERAN’S SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Upon the direct supervision of the Executive Director, this individual provides administrative and office management support to academy staff; thus, overseeing all veteran affairs duties and student education benefit enrollments.
SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Answer and handle all phone calls regarding any veterans attending school/classes at the academy.
* Handle any calls associated with veterans regarding questions pertaining to the academy.
* Handle any administrative duties pertaining to veteran students at the academy. Duties may require, but not limited to:
1. Filing & preparing related reports.
2. Creating folders and content
3. Helping the director with veteran’s audits
4. Assisting the director, or designee, with veteran student, questions, problems, provide guidance on GI benefits, complete related paperwork, and be the liaison for the Veteran’s Affairs.
5. Oversee the veteran’s enrollment manager and all related entries. This would involve training for the use of this system. This involves Manager 100, 101. & 102.
6. Be trained in all related areas of the veteran’s enrollment procedures to include school certifying official training.
7. Oversee the updates involving the academy catalog, and portion of the student manual involving veterans.
8. Must be knowledgeable in academy policy & laws where it pertains to this position.
In addition to the above, this individual must have specific knowledge, skills, and abilities in:
1. Thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices, and Microsoft Office software.
2. Knowledge of computer skills, and office related machines.
3. Ability to type proficiently as determined by a test approved by the academy.
4. Ability to operate a wide variety of work within a limited time period
5. Ability to exercise independent judgement.
6. Ability to meet and deal with the public and other employees in situations which require tact and discretion.
7. Ability to treat all work in a confidential manner.
