We are seeking an experienced Attorney with a demonstrated, unwavering commitment to the rule of law, a passion for client advocacy, and a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to legal practice. This is a remote position. However, candidates must reside in New Jersey and hold active licensure to practice law in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of diverse experience in estate planning, trust administration, probate, and tax planning. We seek an Attorney who not only brings technical expertise but also understands the importance of empathy, communication, and professional integrity in the practice of law. Responsibilities: • Estate Planning: Advise clients on the creation of wills, trusts, and other estate planning mechanisms. Assist clients in understanding their options for managing assets, minimizing exposure to taxes, and ensuring their wishes are honored. Develop tailored estate plans that reflect clients’ unique circumstances and long-term objectives. • Trust Administration: Oversee the administration of both revocable and irrevocable trusts. Manage all aspects of trust accounting, distributions, and compliance with the trust documents. Provide guidance to trustees and beneficiaries, ensuring fiduciary duties are met and potential conflicts are minimized or resolved. • Probate Matters: Represent clients in all phases of probate proceedings. Guide executors and administrators through the complex process of estate administration, including asset management, debt settlement, and the lawful distribution of assets to beneficiaries. Appear in probate court as needed to advocate for clients’ interests. • Tax Planning: Advise clients about strategies for minimizing estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes. Prepare and review relevant federal and New Jersey tax returns for individuals, estates, and trusts. Stay informed on changes to tax law and communicate these developments to clients. • Client Communication: Meet virtually with clients to understand their objectives, provide clear and practical legal advice, and explain complex concepts in accessible terms. Maintain open, professional channels of communication and foster strong client relationships built on trust and transparency. • Legal Document Drafting: Draft and review a wide range of legal documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, guardianship documents, and other estate planning instruments. Ensure that drafted documents accurately reflect clients’ intentions and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. • Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in strict adherence to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. Keep current on relevant federal and New Jersey laws affecting estate planning, trusts, and probate matters. Qualifications: • Legal Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of estate planning, trust law, probate law, tax law, and relevant federal and state statutes. • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial, familial, and legal situations; identify key issues; and develop comprehensive, creative solutions for clients. • Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal abilities, capable of conveying intricate legal concepts to clients, peers, and courts in a clear and persuasive manner. • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated capacity to build rapport and trust with clients, listen actively to their concerns, and provide sensitive, empathetic guidance. • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and maintain meticulous records and documentation. • Problem-Solving Skills: Resourceful and resilient, able to resolve legal challenges efficiently—often under the pressure of deadlines or contested disputes. • Professional Integrity: Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and respect for the role of law in safeguarding individual rights and advancing justice.
