Job Description
We're looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a dynamic Finance team. In this role, you'll play a key part in providing accounting and revenue validation support across various financial functions. You will work closely with team members to ensure the accuracy of financial data, assist in month-end accounting procedures, and contribute to annual audits. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders in finance to support the success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily cash flow, including updating cash flow reports and handling Positive Pay uploads and decisions.
Perform monthly accounting close tasks, including preparing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain balance sheet schedules and assist in the preparation of supporting documentation for financial reports.
Process capitation revenue files and other cash receipts, ensuring proper general ledger code assignments.
Validate data across various platforms, including Claims Detail, Power BI, bank activities, and high-cost items in EZ-Cap.
Compile monthly claims payment and claims payable reports.
Support Financial Analysts by maintaining sub-schedules for financial performance summaries by health plan, line of business, and aid codes.
Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for annual and mid-year audits.
Research and match open authorizations with claims expense details.
Perform additional duties and prepare ad-hoc reports as needed to support hospital analysts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
2+ years of experience in physician organization, health plan, hospital finance, or related fields is preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP), PowerPoint, MS Access, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with MAS200 and EZ-Cap is a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting close procedures and general ledger reconciliation.
Highly analytical with a solid grasp of finance concepts, including financial statement analysis.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, meet deadlines, and provide accurate financial reporting.
Excellent planning, coordination, and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a strong capacity to learn new concepts quickly.
Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and editing skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and comply with HIPAA regulations.
