Job Description

We opened our doors in 2015, but Jazzy Ladies Cafe & Coffeehouse is the culmination of a 20–year dream to bring scratch–made, homestyle dining to the people of Eugene. General Manager

The General Manager is responsible for all daily operations. They will create a hospitable and engaging environment for both employees and Guests, schedule staff to meet guest needs and the monthly budget. They will be Responsible for maintaining restaurant budgets, prime cost and expenses (provided By owner), monitoring and adjusting labor strategies on a daily basis. The Restaurant manager will ensure productivity and effectiveness through Delegation and follow-up. They will work closely with the owner to ensure both The atmosphere and the budget align with the overall mission and vision.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of operations:

  • Relay consistent and relevant communication with the owner
  • Maintain set budget
  • Submit Invoices to MarginEdge
  • Approve, write, maintain and adjust all schedules based on the budget
  • Oversee ordering/receiving and managing of product
  • Conduct bi-weekly inventory
  • Ensure daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly cleaning of the premises (see checklists) are completed
  • Ensure respectful communication between all staff
  • Employee evaluations
  • Employee corrective action
  • Maintain policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular meetings with junior management
  • Ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer service during sacred hours through floor observation and management
  • Create and execute effective marking strategies alongside owner to increase revenue
  • Collaborate and train on potential new revenue streams along side owner and other managers.
  • Oversee all on-boarding and termination
  • Initiate monthly budget review meeting with owner
  • Initiate weekly meetings with owner

Skills and Experience:

  • Reliable vehicle (may be required for minimal use, such as quick trips to the grocery store no more than twice per week)
  • Driver’s license
  • Food handler’s card
  • OLCC Servers Permit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle stress and coach thru stressful times
  • Excellent knowledge of both FOH and BOH operations 
  • Ability to lead and delegate
  • Positive, team player attitude
  • 3 years of previous management experience, more preferred
  • ServSafe certified
  • Ability to read and maintain financial reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
