Job Title: Blood Bank Technologist

Location: Clara Maass Medical Center

Job Overview: Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, body fluids and other specimens that assist physicians in the diagnosis of clinical management of clinical management of patients,

Assumes responsibility of recognizing results or problems that require referral to Supervisor, Manager and or Pathologist,

Performs additional tasks as requested by Chairman of Pathology or his/her designee,

Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in medical technology preferred,

Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques in Blood Banking, which would normally be obtained through a formal four year college/university academic program,

Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology, such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred,

Successful completion of all Orientation Programs: Preferred

Certifications and Licenses required if applicable:

Must meet requirements of the ADA

Moderate amounts of sitting, standing or walking,

Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects weighing up to 20 pounds
