We are partnering with a fast-expanding independent multi-family office and Registered Investment Advisor managing substantial assets to identify an outstanding Managing Director who will spearhead and revolutionize their CFO Services division. This represents an extraordinary chance to assume complete control of an emerging service offering and develop a premier outsourced Chief Financial Officer and payment processing solution for ultra-high-net-worth families.

The chosen leader will guide a team of roughly 10 specialists supporting an expanding clientele, delivering everything from basic payment processing and accounting to sophisticated multi-entity consolidations and executive-level CFO consulting services.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Building

  • Manage service-line P&L responsibility, revenue targets, and profitability metrics
  • Build consensus with senior leadership while driving rapid execution and results
  • Define multi-year vision, pricing strategy, and aggressive growth plan for expanding client base
  • Take full ownership of CFO & Bill-Pay service line - "own the keys" to build and scale the business
  • Represent the firm through thought leadership and at industry events
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape in wealth management and family office services
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Technology) to launch new capabilities

Service Delivery & Quality Management

  • Build scalable workflows for invoice intake, approvals, cash forecasting, and comprehensive reporting
  • Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure best-in-class service delivery
  • Manage growing client base while maintaining exceptional service standards
  • Champion a "white-glove" service culture across all client touchpoints for this high-demand, sticky service offering
  • Oversee service delivery spanning the full spectrum from simple bill-pay and bookkeeping to complex multi-entity consolidation and concierge CFO advisory services

Technology & Process Optimization

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and client experience
  • Develop and execute technology roadmap for the business line
  • Evaluate and implement best-in-class processes, focusing on automation, risk control, and AI enhancements

Team Leadership & Development

  • Foster collaboration with broader organizational platform and stakeholders
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the CFO Services and Bill-Pay team
  • Drive recruitment, performance management, and professional development initiatives

Client & Advisor Relations

  • Maintain exceptional standards of client service and relationship management
  • Serve as subject-matter expert and trusted advisor to internal teams and external clients
  • Participate in prospect and client review meetings as needed

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Coordinate with Compliance and Legal teams on specialized or high-risk client scenarios
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, requests, and deliverables in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all marketing and communication materials adhere to regulatory standards

Reporting & Analytics

  • Drive data-driven decision making across the service line
  • Prepare regular updates on key performance metrics, including client satisfaction scores, usage rates, and service profitability
  • Contribute to development of KPI dashboards and management reporting systems

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Professional Experience

  • Experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients ($20M+ in assets), including entrepreneurs, founders, private equity professionals, and C-suite executives
  • Extensive experience in relationship building and client service excellence, with comfort in client-facing and prospect meeting environments
  • Track record of building consensus and collaboration in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
  • Hands-on experience with bill-pay and reporting technology solutions and platforms
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in bill-pay/treasury or controller functions within single- or multi-family office environments or private-client CPA firms
  • Proven P&L responsibility with demonstrated track record of scaling high-touch financial operations teams from early-stage to mature service lines

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance environment in wealth management (FINRA, SEC guidelines)
  • Familiarity with vendor fraud prevention and wire approval protocols
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Deep knowledge of internal controls, payment security, and treasury best practices

Benefits

Base Salary Range: $400,000 - $500,000+ (commensurate with experience)
