A Shift Leader’s two main areas of focus are completing tasks so that the restaurant runs effectively, and coaching/developing team members. Primary Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow while fostering a positive work environment through coaching, mentoring, and recognition.
  • Allocate resources and delegate tasks to maximize productivity and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback to team members.

Customer Service

  • Ensure exceptional customer service by embodying genuine hospitality.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, focusing on creating a clean and safe environment.
  • Promote the use of the Chick-fil-A One App to enhance customer engagement.
  • Implement strategies to improve the overall guest experience.

Operations

  • Execute opening and closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to operational guidelines.
  • Monitor food quality and safety standards, conducting regular checks to ensure great food.
  • Utilize LEAN principles to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
  • Maintain inventory levels and manage supply orders.
  • Implement new system rollouts, LTOs, and promotional items effectively.

Financial Management

  • Control food, labor, and paper costs to meet financial targets.
  • Track and minimize waste through accurate reporting and management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, including settling cashier shifts and completing end-of-day (EOD) processes.

Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Minimum age 18+
  • Availability to work 32+ hours/week, including weekends
  • Strong knowledge of Chick-fil-A procedures and systems
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving mobility, lifting, and standing
  • Capacity to handle equipment and shelving in various conditions
