Audio/Video Structured Cabling Technician About Us Structured AV is a family-owned company based in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Our main service area locations include NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE and MD. Summary Structured AV is growing! We are adding at least 2 Structured Cabling Technicians to our team. We are looking for candidates who are experienced within the Structured Cabling Industry utilizing NEC, and industry standards. Manufacturer Certifications are a plus, however, we do provide training and certification opportunities. Teammates shall be required to work days, some nights, with occasional overnight travel depending on project requirements. Position Overview Individuals in this position shall be required to perform various duties such as but not limited to; rough-in cables in various environments such as ceiling spaces, conduits or basket tray. Build support structures and pathways, pull cable, drop cable down through walls, terminate cables, and perform fire-stopping procedures and follow prints. Solutions oriented and attention to details are critical. Applicants must pass a background investigation, be able to work in both office and outside environments, and climb a ladder. Candidate may work independently or within a team. Structured AV is a Drug Free work place. Candidates must pass a drug screening. Essential Responsibilities

• Implement network installation projects by learning project documents, plans, specifications and planning material orders for supplies, material and tools, and survey project sites.
• Documenting as-built drawings and project documents throughout the installation and upon completion.
• Pulling and routing cable in new construction and existing structure commercial and production environments.
• Terminate to AV AND TIA/EIA 568 standards
• Install support structures (ladder tray, racks, j-hooks).
• Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents including product specifications, wiring diagrams, and architectural drawings.
• Deliver exceptional customer service. Respond effectively to sensitive customer inquiries or complaints.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Maintain control of assigned Company property and ensure equipment is maintained in safe operating conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license with minimum 3-year clean driving record.
• Ability to handle physical workload. Physical demands include but not limited to standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time, work from high places, climb ladders and navigate through small tight areas; and lift up to 50 – 80 lbs. without assistance.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience in commercial cabling.
• Knowledge of VTC, ATC, networking hardware.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and switches is preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers (Windows-based) and software.
• Basic customer service experience.
• Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and embrace a team-centric environment.

Additional Knowledge Structured AV is always looking for the above candidates to take the lead on our projects or to work as a technician. If you have the following additional knowledge it would be a plus.

• Manufacturer Certifications
• NEC National Electrical Code
• Fiber optic Termination, Mechanical or Fusion Splice
• Fluke copper and fiber optic tester use
