Disney Television Animation has an opportunity for a Recruiter to join our team! The Artist Recruitment team supports hiring of all full-time, production-based crew positions for our Preschool and Kids & Family projects. We build talent pipelines and maintain processes that ensure fair consideration for all candidates while also meeting the quick demands of a production environment. This is a full-cycle Recruiter position that requires an eye for detail, knowledge of animation processes, a passion for story, and the design language to communicate with our creative leaders. As a people professional, the Recruiter must also understand hiring policies, procedures, applicable laws and guidelines, and be meticulous in their keeping of candidate records.

The Art Recruiter is a Project Hire position for 12 months. There is a possibility for extensions to be granted based on studio production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment of top-tier talent, with a targeted emphasis on Story, Design and Animation for all DTVA projects in current series and development
  • Collaborate with Artist Management, Production Management and Creative Leaders to develop recruitment strategies for open positions and future positions
  • Advise on interview techniques, candidate selection, compensation, immigration work visas, union guidelines, and industry trends.
  • Regularly communicate with hiring managers and other stake holders on search and candidate status.
  • Represent Disney Animation at major conferences and industry events. Ability to attract and bring in new and upcoming talent.
  • Assist efforts to coordinate the studio’s talent outreach efforts
  • Engage and develop relationships with recruiting partners in industry organizations and maintain awareness of professional trends and news. Understand overall landscape of studio schedules and how artist availability could be impacted.
  • Manage requisitions and candidate workflows through the company’s applicant tracking system and other in-house tools
  • Partner with stakeholders including Artist Management, Human Resources, Compensation, Labor and Production Management to execute recruitment tasks from job marketing through candidate offers.
  • Partner with Artist Recruitment team and other stakeholders, including Operations and Technology, to support onboarding of new employees Participate in New Hire Orientation
  • Build relationships with Talent Acquistion (TA) counterpart across Disney studios and other lines of business
  • Offer support on cross-studios Talent Acquisition initiatives
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an in-house recruiting role with an emphasis on Story, Design in Animation
  • Strong knowledge of 2D and CG Animation, and/or Visual Effects production.
  • Proven ability to evaluate candidate artwork and/or technical qualifications.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage the recruiting process as well as relationships with hiring managers
  • General knowledge of employment law
  • Knowledge of Animation Guild (839)
  • Knowledge of immigration, work visas and employment law.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, Workday a plus.
  • Ability to travel for Animation industry events, conferences, and school outreach trips.

The hiring range for this position in California is $76,300 to $104,800 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
